Just Hatched

Kiddo (as we like to call him) came home from the hospital on Easter Sunday--although that was the last thing on our minds at the time. However, in honor of Easter and because he looks so cute, we put him in this "Just Hatched" onesie today. Sorry it's so hard to see because newborns don't like to keep their hands at their sides. Apparently modeling classes were not a part of the curriculum in the womb.

And we're all sorts of jealous that we didn't have bunny ears to put on him like our nephew, Jackson. Maybe next year.

and for some reason, Brandon calls him "Junior"

Well, he finally decided to show up! (sorry to anyone who's been waiting around for pictures, etc. Things have been hectic!) Kiddo came with almost no complications, and has been a real gem since he got here.

For those who want details, he was 8 lbs, 9 oz when he was born and 20.5 inches long. He's got some blond hair, which we were really excited about, though we are pretty sure it will probably fall out (but hoping it doesn't).

Needless to say, life is completely different. Who knew that not only tracking H's bowel movements but their very COLOR could be so exciting?! We never realized how much is possible when running on a mere 45 minutes of sleep! But, like I said, Kiddo's a gem. We sure love him a lot!

our blog has been taken over by baby

(this is Brandon)

It's taken me a while, but I just noticed that our blog is no longer about us so much as it is about baby. This is only natural, I suppose, but it's still a bit of a shock for me to realize. One example: for weeks in a row, the only new thing on the blog was a shot of Felicia's ever-growing belly. Bad thing? No. I can't think of anyone else's belly I'd rather have on our blog, but still - it's taking over. Example #2: last night, after I got home from doing my school-work, Felicia and I were sitting on the couch and she turned to me and said, "We don't have any hobbies anymore . . ." I said, "Nope. Well, I mean, my hobby is the library and yours is being pregnant." And that pretty much sums things up.

Can you blame us though? What better hobbies could two people like us have? And really, I can't imagine anything else that we would rather have dominate our time and thoughts than this upcoming little человек.

In other news, we've been going on walks lately to induce labor. As you may have guessed, it hasn't been working too well. Here's a video of our latest, and a shot of F resting her pretty little self on a bench.

As for me, I'm trying to keep myself otherwise occupied so I don't stress out about my impending responsibilities. I'm really looking forward to the whole fatherhood thing though - it's gonna be a blast. But I guess this means I give up my love-affair with Langdell.

Drat.

Umm...baby?

I'm sure no one has been counting down the days as meticulously as Brandon and I, but, yes, today is the baby's due date and, no, we don't have a baby. (The little baby ticker we put on our blog is just mocking us.) But who knows. Kiddo could be one of those rare babies that actually comes on his due date. I can hope, right?

Belly Evolution--Updated! Again!

Ok, ok. Although I think it is somewhat embarrassing, by popular demand, here are my belly pics thus far.

I'm hoping this is the last time I have to update this post.
