Big Boy Bed

Kiddo outgrew his crib several months ago while we were in Bosnia. There was one occasion where he climbed out during naptime (which thankfully never happened again), but more than that, his body is just longer than the crib is. Most children Kiddo's age have been sleeping in toddler beds for months and we did make a couple feeble attempts to switch him to the queen-sized bed in his Bosnian bedroom, but he looked so small in such a large bed that we weren't surprised when he cried.

When we came back to the States we really didn't have an excuse not to switch him to a bed so yesterday we took the plunge. I think we prepped him well throughout the week by telling him about the new bed and reading library books about big beds. He also helped us pick out sheets and such yesterday when we bought the bed. We weren't quite sure what to expect, but he went to bed last night without any whining and woke up at his normal time this morning. He took his nap this afternoon without any crying and slept as long as usual.

It makes me think that we were over-estimating the difficulties of the switch. Or it was too long overdue. Or Kiddo's just amazing.

Ergo

Nothing to blog about. Life is back to normal. But now we're in the United States instead of living elsewhere so it seems even more normal than normal. I can describe the situation with a few simple equations:

Normal life + United States = Boring Blog

AND

Boring Blog + Husband Earning an Income = More Better

AND

More Better > Exciting Blog

ERGO

Boring Blog + Husband Earning an Income > Normal life + Living Elsewhere

At least that's what I'm telling myself.
