She arrived just in time for our first snow fall of the season
First up was Fallen Monument Park, but we were just there, so I didn't take many pics. Also, we went to Gorky Park because it is just across the street, but there are no pics because it was dang cold!
That evening we all went to a hockey game! Rita got us tickets and we were sitting right next to a fan section, so it was fun to listen to all of the coordinated cheers the entire game.
These are the pictures that greet you when you first enter the hockey rink.
The next day we headed to Victory Park (which we've been to before), but this time we went into the museum. I remember doing the museum with Brandon 10 years ago, but they've improved it since then with a light show in the Hall of Glory.
Next we went Novodevichy and the neighboring cemetery. Much of it was under restoration (the downside of going off-season), but it was still really pretty.
Somehow G2 has learned how to sleep when it's freezing outside!
Finally we took Chelon to Red Square! We took a tour of St. Basil's Cathedral (something new for all of us), saw Lenin in his tomb (new to everyone but Brandon), and then showed Chelon the rest of the Square.
The next day Chelon and I went solo to Red Square to try and get tickets for a Bolshoi tour, but they were already sold out. So we settled on a tour of Cathedral Square in the Kremlin (so many churches during her visit!).
We finished our day by walking to the Christ the Savior Cathedral.
It was a great way to end Chelon's visit! Come back soon!
