Overdue Firsts

Our girl had her first ice cream cone of her very own.  She's had ice cream aplenty in her life, but never a cone for herself.  Actually, I think it was supposed to be shared with me, but, as often happens with BG, she decided that she wanted it all to herself.  And since the ice cream was free, we went with it.

Kiddo had his first professional haircut.  His entire life, he has had his haircut by either Brandon or me (or both of us simultaneously) and I think maybe once or twice by his Grandma.  But most haircuts usually resulted in either Brandon or me (or both of us simultaneously) feeling like it wasn't quite right.  With school pictures coming up, we figured it was time to get his haircut done professionally.  Kiddo is a cautious kid and was hesitant about the barbershop, but there was a movie and games, a lollipop and a prize at the end, so he was pretty excited about it afterwards.  Although you wouldn't know it by the look on his face.

Poolside

The longer we live here the more we realize how we really lucked out with our neighborhood.  We live about a block away from our community pool, which was really awesome when it was open.  We're still not sure why they closed the pool since--oh yeah!--it's still 90 degrees outside.  Regardless, it was fun to be able to walk to the pool and let the kids play in the splash pad while it lasted.

Hypothetical Question

A conversation during dinner last night:


Kiddo:  Mom, if you ever have another baby, if you're not too old--

Me:  Whoa, whoa, whoa.  What do you mean "if I'm not too old"?

Kiddo:  (hesitates)

Me:  Nevermind, sorry for interrupting you.  What were you going to say?

Kiddo:  If you have another baby, and it's a boy, can we name him Joe Triangle?


Needless to say, the answer was no.
