This is how I found Kiddo when I went to get him from his afternoon nap. Apparently we need to keep the baby powder farther away from the crib.

H wasn't a big fan of the stuff, either.

Gettysburg

We woke up Saturday morning with a hankerin' to see some Civil War memorials. Good thing Gettysburg is less than a two hour drive away!

The best part? Lunch at Gettysburg's oldest malt shop. Brandon's double bacon cheeseburger had a pound of beef on it. The picture doesn't do it justice.

The Long-Overdue Teething Post

For the past 6 months, we have been anticipating the day when Kiddo would finally get a tooth. (He's been kind of a late bloomer that way.) During this time of expectation, we have learned a few things:

1) Crankiness and/or crying does not equal teething.
2) Drool does not equal teething.
3) Most of those teething remedies people tell you about for when the baby actually is teething don't really help.

So, here is a pic of our on-the-fly form of teething relief while we were on a road trip (aka Kiddo's first slurpee).
This really was effective.

And, at long last, our boy has got a tooth! (I'm hearing choirs singing as I type this!) And he's even getting a second tooth already; he's starting to look like a little jack-o-lantern.
It's a good thing there's a 7-Eleven within walking distance.

Easter!

One year ago on Easter Sunday, we brought Kiddo home from the hospital. I am being completely honest when I say that Easter was the last thing on my mind. So, officially this was our second Easter as a family of three, but in actuality, this was the first.

We (er, the Easter Bunny) hid eggs with cereal and crackers inside of them all over the living room. Kiddo's little eyes bounced around, spotting the plastic treasures, as soon as I set him down. And he got a lot more excited when we opened the first egg up and he saw there was food inside. All twelve eggs were found and disposed of in a surprisingly short amount of time. Kiddo is a master at the whole hide-and-seek thing.

We ate cinnamon rolls, went to the Pentagon Memorial, had a great church service (Kiddo even behaved himself!), and had dinner with friends. The day was wonderful and was a further reminder of the sacrifice of our Savior. How grateful we are for Him! I know that in the years to come, on the day we reflect on the resurrection of our Savior, Easter will also remind me of the day we brought our new baby home. He is ours for eternity because Him.

Newest Trick

Of the many useful things we have taught our son (ie dancing, sticking out his tongue, etc.), here is the newest:
