Evolution of a Black Eye

CJ and I were walking to the playground one morning when she tripped on the cobblestones and hit the side of her face on the curb.  The result was one doozy of a black eye!

First Science Fair Ever!

We have lucked out by never having to to do school science projects before.  So when I learned that the science fair was compulsory at this school, I'm pretty sure my first thought was 'ah crap.'  I got emails from their teachers about how the kids needed to choose their projects, but then never heard any details.  Eventually, I asked H and E what was going on and they said they were had already picked their topics and were working on it at school.  That's right--both of their projects were chosen, researched, worked on, and completed entirely at school!  Best science fair ever!

E's project was all about the many uses for coconuts.

H's project was about shadows and the changes in light.

We used the leftover coconut to let out some pent up Sunday energy.  The kids thought it was great!

Lalbagh Botanical Gardens

May Day was a Wednesday so we didn't want to venture too far.  We ended up going downtown to the Lalbagh Botanical Gardens, a huge park that was both random and impressive.  Our favorite part was actually the rocky hill right in the front.
