About a week before G2's 6-month birthday, she had her first taste of solid food.
As you can tell from that cute face, she wasn't a fan. She would either spit the food out right away or clamp her mouth shut and refuse to try. After a couple of weeks I finally just gave up on the baby food and started giving her whatever we were eating. That seemed to do the trick, because she is much more open to eating the baby stuff if I give her some of what I'm eating first.
Thus far she's had baby cereal, sweet potatoes, applesauce, carrots, squash, as well as things like cauliflower soup, spinach pizza (her favorite), and chickpea curry. I can't wait to see what else she'll try!

A Day in Dallas
Our friend recently got married and invited us up to Dallas to celebrate. It was great to see him again, but, we somehow didn't take any pictures!
Since we were in Dallas anyway, we decided to check off a bucket list item for Kiddo: Legoland! But our tickets were not until the afternoon, so we spent the morning at the aquarium.
We knew that it was only a mini-Legoland, but it was still a little disappointing. There was hardly anything for the kids to do (don't even get me started on the lame "girl" section), so Kiddo rode on the car ride and we pretty much called it a day. Kiddo was happy, so it was still a win!

11 Year Anniversary!
Brandon was out of town for our actual anniversary, but we celebrated a week early and went indoor skydiving! It's all the fun and adventure of regular skydiving, but without the risk of death!
After flying by ourselves for a while, the trainer took us up to the top and spun us around a few times. It was awesome!
And, not to brag or anything, but I was pretty amazing at it. If I ever need a second or third career, I may just turn to indoor skydiving instructor. It would require a few hundred more hours of practice, but I think I'm up for it!

4th of July in OKC
We went to OKC to see Brian and Emilie's family over Independence Day weekend and had a great time as always. One of the highlights for the kids was participating in the neighborhood parade: the children followed a fire truck around the block.

5 Months Old!
G2's 5-month birthday also happened to be the first time she tried out the swimming pool. She pretty much hated being in the water, but she sure looked cute in her swim suit!
