Padres in Pitt

It should be no surprise to anyone that the best way to get family to come visit you when you live across the country is to have a baby.  This is how I got my mom to come stay with us a year ago when BG was born.  [Pause for a minute while a freak out about it being almost a year since BG was born.  ....  Ok, I'm good.]  There's even more reason for the padres to come across the country to visit when they are going on a mission to Brazil and it will be the only time they will see their new grandbaby for a year and a half.  And since my parents were going all the way to Pittsburgh to see our new nephew, it seemed easy enough for us to make the trip, as well, and say our good-byes.

We spent much of our time in the lobby of the hospital (no kids allowed in our nephew's room)

but still had a fun time chatting, hanging out, walking around the neighborhoods, and, of course, partaking of some great Pittsburgh-er food.

I'm so glad we were able to see my parents again before they leave for Brazil and create some good memories of them for Kiddo.

10 Months!

Now that crawling has been mastered, BG has started pulling herself up and cruising around the furniture!  It's so fun to see her enjoying her new-found freedom.  And makes me realize even more that my baby is growing up too soon!

Feeling Popular

We loved having Brandon's folks with us for a few days!  Kiddo was thrilled to have someone else to play cars and hide-and-seek with and by the end of their trip, BG would even let them hold her for a while.  We also had Brian and our nephew Porter with us for a couple of days but somehow ended up with zero pictures of them.  Chalk it up to my lack of picture taking in general and just imagine how good-looking they are.

While the grandparents were here, we went to the Udvar-Hazy Air and Space museum (and saw the Discovery!)...

...visited Great Falls...

...went to the beach (in the rain) to look for shark teeth...

...had a quick visit to Arlington Cemetery...

...and just hung out.

Thanks for the visit, guys!  Come back soon!
