It should be no surprise to anyone that the best way to get family to come visit you when you live across the country is to have a baby. This is how I got my mom to come stay with us a year ago when BG was born. [Pause for a minute while a freak out about it being almost a year since BG was born. .... Ok, I'm good.] There's even
more reason for the padres to come across the country to visit when they are going on a
mission to
Brazil and it will be the only time they will see their new grandbaby for a year and a half. And since my parents were going all the way to Pittsburgh to see our new nephew, it seemed easy enough for us to make the trip, as well, and say our good-byes.
We spent much of our time in the lobby of the hospital (no kids allowed in our nephew's room)
but still had a fun time chatting, hanging out, walking around the neighborhoods, and, of course, partaking of some great Pittsburgh-er
food.
I'm so glad we were able to see my parents again before they leave for Brazil and create some good memories of them for Kiddo.
