Christmas Vacation--Los Angeles

After our short visit in Las Vegas, we continued our "Vacation to See Family Members We Never See" by driving to Los Angeles to visit Brandon's brother and his family.  We met up with Brad and the kids at La Brea Tar Pits, and then we wandered around the other museums nearby.

We spent the next day exploring a few beaches.  It was a crazy windy day, so we pretty much had them to ourselves.

We spent the rest of our time with Brad and Kim at Legoland.  We've never taken the kids to an amusement park before and it was so much fun!  Our last day there was Christmas Eve and there were no crowds.  We were able to go on all of our favorite rides over and over.

After a fun few days in LA, it was time to drive back to Vegas to fly home.  We made a pit stop in Zzyxx to give the kids a chance to run around a bit, and Kiddo spotted this little fellow:

Merry Christmas to us!

Christmas Vacation--Las Vegas

This Christmas was designated the "Vacation to See Family Members We Never See."  As a result, we decided to visit my brother and his family in Las Vegas for a few days.

We enjoyed the awesome park near Seth and Ashley's home...

...hiked around Red Rock Canyon (until we got too cold--Houston has turned us into such wimps!)...

...and (the highlight of the trip) we visited Hoover Dam!

We had a great time with Seth and Ash in Vegas and really need to do it again soon.  Plus, Ashley's candy was one of the best parts of the trip.  I love that she's creating her own confectionery.  We're still craving that honeycomb candy!

Soccer 3.0

This was Kiddo's third season playing soccer, so we decided to upgrade him to a tougher league--you know, one that actually keeps score.  I definitely think it was the right move for him.  His coaches were great, his team was well-balanced, and he was given opportunities to play and do well.  He loves soccer and played his heart out for every game.  So, even though I know I have posted about his soccer-playing in previous posts, I thought Kiddo deserved another shout-out for doing so well this time around.

I took this picture of Kiddo's legs after he finished one of the best games he's ever played.  He had a few shots on goal, an assist, a header, and a score.  Plus, a few slides.
