Massive UT Trip Blog Post

We made a last minute decision to bless G2 in UT, which meant two solid days of driving both ways.  The most memorable part of the drive to UT?  Eating lunch at Tommy's Donuts and Fried Rice.  You would think that if you only served only two types of food in your restaurant that they would both be amazing.  But you'd be wrong!

It was wonderful to have some of our UT family together for G2's blessing and the blessing itself was beautiful!

The rest of our time in UT was spent trying to pack in as many activities with our family as we could.  We went to the Tracy Aviary (the bird show was awesome!)...

We saw a Lego exhibit (that made us miss Boston and DC) ...

...and visited the Natural History Museum of Utah.

We toured the Conference Center and walked around Temple Square...

...and met our new niece, who is 10 days younger (and a couple of pounds lighter) than G2.

But mostly, we just spent time with family...

The only memorable thing during the long drive home was the night we spent in a Route 66 motel.  If we ever have to make this drive again (hopefully not anytime soon!), we would definitely stay there again.

1st Grade Texas Hoedown

Kiddo had his first-grade program and, since it was the same week as Texas Independence Day (which is not enough of a holiday to get the day off from school or work, but is enough of a holiday for people to wish you a happy Texas Independence Day), it was a cowboy-themed event.  The kids were dressed up in their best Western-wear (BG couldn't be left out!), and they performed dances and sang songs.  And you better believe that when the kids started singing "Deep in the Heart of Texas" all the parents spontaneously joined in!

3 weeks old!

G2 did not want her picture taken today.  No matter how often I tried, she just seemed to get cranky every time.  So by default, this is G2's best three-week old picture.  Still really cute!
